तेनोक्तंte·nok·taṃ यथाya·thā, खक्रियाणाच्चkhakriyāṇācca दुखत्वात्dukhatvāt प्रत्याpratyā वर्तितुमदंवvartitumadaṃva।। तेनte·na शाखतमभोागायेंśākhatamabhoāgāyeṃ यांyāṃ भूमिंbhū·miṃ परमेश्वरःpa·ra·meś·va·raḥ। युष्मभ्यंyuṣ·mabh·yaṃ वःvaḥ पिटभ्यश्चpiṭabhyaśca द्d त्तवांस्तचttavāṃstaca वत्स्ययvatsyaya।।

They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

यूयञ्चेतस्देवानांyūyañcetasdevānāṃ सेवायैse·vā·yai भजनायbhajanāya चca। मानुगच्छतmā·nu·gac·cha·ta तान्tān माmā वाvā क्रियाभिःkri·yā·bhiḥ सीयक्षsīyakṣa स्तयेाःstayeāḥ। मांmāṃ धयतdhayata तेनाद्ंtenādṃ नna करिष्यामिka·riṣ·yā·mi वःvaḥ क्तिंktiṃ।।

yūyañcetasdevānāṃ sevāyai bhajanāya ca| mānugacchata tān mā vā kriyābhiḥ sīyakṣa stayeāḥ| māṃ dhayata tenādṃ na kariṣyāmi vaḥ ktiṃ||

And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

यूयन्तुyū·yan·tu मदचोऽश्रत्वाmadaco'śratvā वक्तंvak·taṃ परमेश्वरःpa·ra·meś·va·raḥ। बुद्धbuddha खच्ततयेऽकाटंkhactataye'kāṭaṃ मांmāṃ क्रियाभिःkri·yā·bhiḥ स्वsva चस्तयेःcastayeḥ।।

yūyantu madaco'śratvā vaktaṃ parameśvaraḥ| buddha khactataye'kāṭaṃ māṃ kriyābhiḥ sva castayeḥ||

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

अतोa·to देतारिद्detārid ब्रूतेbrū·te सेनाध्यच्तःsenādhyactaḥ परमेश्वरःpa·ra·meś·va·raḥ। ममma·ma वाक्छेषुvākcheṣu युष्माभिyuṣ·mā·bhi नावधानंnāvadhānaṃ कृतंkṛ·taṃ यतःya·taḥ।।

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

पथ्यpathya तस्मादहंtas·mā·da·haṃ दूतेवdūteva प्रान्prān उनत्तरवासिनःunattaravāsinaḥ। सकलान्sa·ka·lān सङ्गीष्यामिsaṅgīṣyāmi मामकौनच्चmāmakaunacca सेवकsevaka। बाबिलीयमक्षीपालंbābilīyamakṣīpālaṃ निबूखद्धित्सरंnibūkhaddhitsaraṃ तथाta·thā।। व्यानिव्यामिvyānivyāmi चca तातस्यtā·tas·ya दशस्यdaśasya तन्निवासिनांtan·ni·vā·si·nāṃ। तचतुदिंtacatudiṃ कस्थवंkasthavaṃ शोśo तांtāṃ सर्व्वघाच्चsarvaghācca विरूद्धतःvirūddhataḥ।। ध्वंसेdhvaṃse तान्tān विनियोच्छामिviniyocchāmi विधास्येvidhāsye विस्मयस्यvismayasya चca। धिक्कारस्यdhikkārasya चca लच्यंlacyaṃ तान्tān निव्योच्छेदस्यnivyocchedasya चca स्थलंsthalaṃ।।

pathya tasmādahaṃ dūteva prān unattaravāsinaḥ| sakalān saṅgīṣyāmi māmakaunacca sevaka| bābilīyamakṣīpālaṃ nibūkhaddhitsaraṃ tathā|| vyānivyāmi ca tātasya daśasya tannivāsināṃ| tacatudiṃ kasthavaṃ śo tāṃ sarvvaghācca virūddhataḥ|| dhvaṃse tān viniyocchāmi vidhāsye vismayasya ca| dhikkārasya ca lacyaṃ tān nivyocchedasya ca sthalaṃ||

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

व्पामादक्षघंयाःvpāmādakṣaghaṃyāḥ शब्दśab·da शब्दśab·da वरकन्ययोाःvarakanyayoāḥ। पेषणीpeṣaṇī जातjā·ta ब्दbda च्चcca प्रदीपस्यpradīpasya प्रभांpra·bhāṃ तथाta·thā। समच्छेद्छाम्यहंsamacchedchāmyahaṃ तेषांte·ṣāṃ जनानांja·nā·nāṃ मध्यतस्तद्ाmadhyatastadā।।

vpāmādakṣaghaṃyāḥ śabda śabda varakanyayoāḥ| peṣaṇī jāta bda cca pradīpasya prabhāṃ tathā| samacchedchāmyahaṃ teṣāṃ janānāṃ madhyatastadā||

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

भविताbha·vi·tā कछतसखरदे्रोऽयंkachatasakharadero'yaṃ ध्वंसविस्मययोः' स्थलंsthalaṃ। सsa प्ततिवव्छरान्ptativavcharān यावद्yā·vad अत्रत्यांat·rat·yāṃ सर्व्वंजातयःsarvaṃjātayaḥ। नाबिलीयनरेन््रस्यnābilīyanarenrasya सम्भविष्यन्तिsambhaviṣyanti किङ्कराःkiṅkarāḥ।।

bhavitā kachatasakharadero'yaṃ dhvaṃsavismayayoḥ' sthalaṃ| sa ptativavcharān yāvad atratyāṃ sarvvaṃjātayaḥ| nābilīyanarenrasya sambhaviṣyanti kiṅkarāḥ||

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

तेषुte·ṣu सप्ततिव्घुsaptativghu सम्पूsampū ेत्वंetvaṃ गतेष्वgateṣva इंiṃ। श्रśra नानिलोयनरेन्द्रायnāniloyanarendrāya तचत्यायेtacatyāye चca जातयोjā·ta·yo। कल्द्ोयानाच्चkaldoyānācca देशायdeśāya तेषांte·ṣāṃ दुष्कम्मेणःduṣkammeṇaḥ फालंphālaṃ। प्रदास्यामिpra·dās·yā·mi यथ।योाग्यम् इथंithaṃ त्रैtrai परेशखरःpareśakharaḥ। तंtaṃ देशच्deśac विधास्यामिvidhāsyāmi निव्यस्थायिमरूष्यलंnivyasthāyimarūṣyalaṃ।।

teṣu saptativghu sampū etvaṃ gateṣva iṃ| śra nāniloyanarendrāya tacatyāye ca jātayo| kaldoyānācca deśāya teṣāṃ duṣkammeṇaḥ phālaṃ| pradāsyāmi yatha|yoāgyam ithaṃ trai pareśakharaḥ| taṃ deśac vidhāsyāmi nivyasthāyimarūṣyalaṃ||

And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

व्यक्तvyakta तत्प्रातिकूल्येनtat·prā·ti·kūl·ye·na यानिyā·ni वाक्यानिvāk·yā·ni चोक्कावान्cokkāvān। सर्व्वस्वितsarvasvita रवंशेषुravaṃśeṣu विभियेणvibhiyeṇa प्रभाष्यprabhāṣya चca। यावन्तिyā·van·ti भाविवाक्यानिbhāvivākyāni लिखितान्यचlikhitānyaca पुस्तकेpus·ta·ke।। प्रापयिष्यामिprāpayiṣyāmi तंtaṃ देशंde·śaṃ तानिtā·ni सर्व्ववचांस्यद्ंsarvavacāṃsyadṃ।।

vyakta tatprātikūlyena yāni vākyāni cokkāvān| sarvvasvita ravaṃśeṣu vibhiyeṇa prabhāṣya ca| yāvanti bhāvivākyāni likhitānyaca pustake|| prāpayiṣyāmi taṃ deśaṃ tāni sarvvavacāṃsyadṃ||

And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

यस्माद्yas·mād विक्रमिणाvikramiṇā वंशाvaṃ·śā महान्तmahānta मदीमृतःmadīmṛtaḥ। दासत्वंdāsatvaṃ कारयिष्यन्तिkārayiṣyanti तदेशोयजनानपिtadeśoyajanānapi।। इत्थंit·thaṃ तेषांte·ṣāṃ यथाचाराyathācārā यथाya·thā कर्म्मंkarmaṃ चca दस्तयोःdastayoḥ। तथाta·thā नियातयिव्यामिniyātayivyāmi तभ्योtabhyo दत्त्वाचितंdattvācitaṃ फलंpha·laṃ।।

yasmād vikramiṇā vaṃśā mahānta madīmṛtaḥ| dāsatvaṃ kārayiṣyanti tadeśoyajanānapi|| itthaṃ teṣāṃ yathācārā yathā karmmaṃ ca dastayoḥ| tathā niyātayivyāmi tabhyo dattvācitaṃ phalaṃ||

For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

यतya·ta इस्रायेलःis·rā·ye·laḥ प्रभुःpra·bhuḥ परमेश्वरोpa·ra·meś·va·ro मामिद्māmid वाक्यमवादीत्vākyamavādīt त्वंtvaṃ रोषरूपमद्यपर्णम्roṣarūpamadyaparṇam इमंi·maṃ कंसंkaṃ·saṃ ममma·ma करादादायkarādādāya याःyāḥ प्र््ंत्वांprṃtvāṃ प्रदिशामिpradiśāmi ताःtāḥ स्वाsvā जातीस्तचjātīstaca पाययpāyaya।

yata isrāyelaḥ prabhuḥ parameśvaro māmid vākyamavādīt tvaṃ roṣarūpamadyaparṇam imaṃ kaṃsaṃ mama karādādāya yāḥ prṃtvāṃ pradiśāmi tāḥ svā jātīstaca pāyaya|

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

तेनte·na तेte पीत्वाpīt·vā तेषांte·ṣāṃ मध्यंmadh·yaṃ मयाma·yā प्रचिpraci तस्टासेtasṭāse: सकाश्रद्sakāśrad विचलिष्यन््यन्मदिष्यन्तिvicaliṣyanyanmadiṣyanti चca।

tena te pītvā teṣāṃ madhyaṃ mayā praci tasṭāse: sakāśrad vicaliṣyanyanmadiṣyanti ca|

And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

अतोa·to परpara मेखरस्यmekharasya कारात्kārāt तंtaṃ कंसमादायkaṃsamādāya सsa वांvāṃ प्रतिमांpra·ti·māṃ प्रादिशत्prādiśat ताःtāḥ सर्व्वाsar·vā जातौरपाययंjātaurapāyayaṃ।

ato para mekharasya kārāt taṃ kaṃsamādāya sa vāṃ pratimāṃ prādiśat tāḥ sarvvā jātaurapāyayaṃ|

Then took I the cup at the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

अर्थतोar·tha·to चिरूशालcirūśāla संsaṃ विद्दायाःviddāyāḥ सर्व्वैनगराणिsarvainagarāṇi चca तस्याtas·yā राज्ञःrāj·ñaḥ प्रमुख्यनरांखापाययंpramukhyanarāṃkhāpāyayaṃ, ध्वंसायdhvaṃsāya विस्मयायvismayāya सीत्कारायsītkārāya शापास्पदायśāpāspadāya चca यथाद्यyathādya दृश्यतेdṛś·ya·te तथाta·thā तेषांte·ṣāṃ संस्थापनंsaṃ·sthā·pa·naṃ येनye·na भवेत्bha·vet।

arthato cirūśāla saṃ viddāyāḥ sarvvainagarāṇi ca tasyā rājñaḥ pramukhyanarāṃkhāpāyayaṃ, dhvaṃsāya vismayāya sītkārāya śāpāspadāya ca yathādya dṛśyate tathā teṣāṃ saṃsthāpanaṃ yena bhavet|

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
