Stand in the gate of the LORD’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.

Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.

For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;

Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.

āḥ prāg yacā nijanāmagheyamavāsayaṃ śila sthitaṃ mama tat sthānaṃ gacchata mamekhāyeloyaprajānāṃ du-tvaddhetunā tat prati mayā yadakāri tacrirīttadhvañca|

But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

अतोa·to धनाdhanā परमेश्वरोpa·ra·meś·va·ro ब्रवीतिbra·vī·ti यूयमेताःyūyametāḥ क्रियाkri·yā ब्यकाछंbyakāchaṃ मयिma·yi सयल्ंsayalṃ भाषमाणेbhāṣamāṇe तातिtāti मयिma·yi युशानाजृयतिyuśānājṛyati यूयमृत्तरंyūyamṛttaraṃ नादत्तnā·dat·ta।

ato dhanā parameśvaro bravīti yūyametāḥ kriyā byakāchaṃ mayi sayalṃ bhāṣamāṇe tāti mayi yuśānājṛyati yūyamṛttaraṃ nādatta|

And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;

अतःa·taḥ शिलंśilaṃ पतिpa·ti यादशमाचारंyādaśamācāraṃ कृत्वाkṛt·vā तंtaṃ ताटशमेवाचारंtāṭaśamevācāraṃ युष्माकंyuṣ·mā·kaṃ विश्वासस्थलंviśvāsasthalaṃ ममma·ma नासाnā·sā विख्यातम्vikhyātam ख्तन्मन्दिरंkhtanmandiraṃ प्रतिpra·ti युष्मभ्यंyuṣ·mabh·yaṃ युश्रत्पव्वंपुरुषेभ्यखखyuśratpavvaṃpuruṣebhyakhakha मयाma·yā दत्तम्dat·tam खनत्khanat स्थानच्चsthānacca प्रतिpra·ti करिष्यामिka·riṣ·yā·mi।

ataḥ śilaṃ pati yādaśamācāraṃ kṛtvā taṃ tāṭaśamevācāraṃ yuṣmākaṃ viśvāsasthalaṃ mama nāsā vikhyātam khtanmandiraṃ prati yuṣmabhyaṃ yuśratpavvaṃpuruṣebhyakhakha mayā dattam khanat sthānacca prati kariṣyāmi|

Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

यथाya·thā चांcāṃ युष्माकंyuṣ·mā·kaṃ भरातुन्bharātun अथतःathataḥ छत्खम्chatkham इपूयिमीयवंशंipūyimīyavaṃśaṃ निराछतवान्nirāchatavān तथाta·thā युद्भान्yudbhān ममma·ma टद्डिताṭadḍitā निराकरिष्यामिnirākariṣyāmi।

And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

त्वसचैतेषांtvasacaiteṣāṃ जनानांja·nā·nāṃ कृतेkṛ·te प्रार्थनांprār·tha·nāṃ माmā कूरkūra तेषांte·ṣāṃ कृतेkṛ·te निवेदनंni·ve·da·naṃ याच्चyācca माmā प्रयुंच्prayuṃc माञ्चmāñ·ca प्रसादयितुंprasādayituṃ माmā पवत्तंखpavattaṃkha यतोya·to इद्धंiddhaṃ तवta·va वाक्यvāk·ya नna य्रहोष्यामिyrahoṣyāmi।

tvasacaiteṣāṃ janānāṃ kṛte prārthanāṃ mā kūra teṣāṃ kṛte nivedanaṃ yācca mā prayuṃc māñca prasādayituṃ mā pavattaṃkha yato iddhaṃ tava vākya na yrahoṣyāmi|

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

parameśvaro brūte te kiṃ māṃ nādhante? kiṃvā vivaṇemukhā bhavitum ātma

Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?

बाधनंbādhanaṃ कुर्व्वेkur·ve अतःa·taḥ प्रभुःpra·bhuḥ परमेश्वरोpa·ra·meś·va·ro ब्रवीतिbra·vī·ti पश्यतpaś·ya·ta ममma·ma कधाkadhā ममma·ma रोषश्ैततस्यानस्यापरिroṣaśaitatasyānasyāpari मनुब्यपशनामुपरिmanubyapaśanāmupari च्ेचस्थतरूणांcecasthatarūṇāṃ भून्युत्पन्नपलानाञ्चोपरिbhūnyutpannapalānāñcopari वर्धिंव्यतिvardhiṃvyati सsa कोाधानलोkoādhānalo ज्वलिव्यत्यनिव्वाणश्चjvalivyatyanivvāṇaśca भविष्यतिbha·viṣ·ya·ti।

isrāyela kharo vaḥ senāśyactaḥ parameśvara: sa dadaṃ brūte, yuyaṃ khīvabalibhiḥ madra hāmīyabalīnapi saṃyujya māṃsādanaṃ kuruta|

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
22

यतोya·to ऽहंhaṃ यदाya·dā युष्माकंyuṣ·mā·kaṃ पूर्व्वपरुषान्pūr·va·pa·ru·ṣān मिसरदेशाद्mi·sa·ra·de·śād वक्चिव्कृव्यानयंvakcivkṛvyānayaṃ तदाta·dā नna दोमीयबलीनधिdomīyabalīnadhi नna वान्यबलीनधिvānyabalīnadhi तान्tān आदिशंā·di·śaṃ।

yato 'haṃ yadā yuṣmākaṃ pūrvvaparuṣān misaradeśād vakcivkṛvyānayaṃ tadā na domīyabalīnadhi na vānyabalīnadhi tān ādiśaṃ|

For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
23

परन्त्विदमेवparantvidameva वाक्यvāk·ya तान्tān च्याज्ञापयंcyājñāpayaṃ यूयंyū·yaṃ ममma·ma रवोra·vo मनोma·no निधद्धंnidhaddhaṃ तेनाद्ंtenādṃ युष्माकम्yuṣ·mā·kam ईश्वरेोīśvareo भविव्यानिbhavivyāni यृूयच्चyṛūyacca ममma·ma प्रजाpra·jā भविष्ययbhaviṣyaya, युयंyu·yaṃ मदाज्ञापितेनmadājñāpitena छत्लमागणchatlamāgaṇa चca व्रजनvra·ja·na तेनte·na मङ्लमवा्ययmaṅlamavāyaya।

parantvidameva vākya tān cyājñāpayaṃ yūyaṃ mama ravo mano nidhaddhaṃ tenādṃ yuṣmākam īśvareo bhavivyāni yṛūyacca mama prajā bhaviṣyaya, yuyaṃ madājñāpitena chatlamāgaṇa ca vrajana tena maṅlamavāyaya|

But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

तेte तुtu नna श्रुत्वाśrut·vā कणेपातञ्चनkaṇepātañcana कत्वाkat·vā खीयदुचित्तजाजांkhīyaducittajājāṃ मन्तणाम्mantaṇām अचरन्acaran अभिमुखाश्चabhimukhāśca नna भूत्वाbhūt·vā पराङ्मुखाparāṅmukhā अभवन्a·bha·van।

te tu na śrutvā kaṇepātañcana katvā khīyaducittajājāṃ mantaṇām acaran abhimukhāśca na bhūtvā parāṅmukhā abhavan|

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

मिसर्दशताmisardaśatā युद्मत्यव्वेणुरूवाणांyudmatyavveṇurūvāṇāṃ निगेमनदिनमारभ्याद्यnigemanadinamārabhyādya यावदहंyā·va·da·haṃ प्रद्धछpraddhacha सयनंsayanaṃ ममma·ma सकलद्ासान्sakaladāsān भविष्यद्वादिनाbha·viṣ·yad·vā·di·nā यञ्मान्yañmān प्रतिpra·ti प्रेषयामिpre·ṣa·yā·mi।

Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

जनास्तjanāsta नna श्रुताśru·tā कशेपातच्चंkaśepātaccaṃ नछत्वाnachatvā खग्रीवांkhagrīvāṃ कठोरीkaṭhorī ज्यjya खीkhī यपुव्वैपुरुषेभ्याyapuvvaipuruṣebhyā ऽपिpi दुङतराduṅatarā अभवन्a·bha·van।

janāsta na śrutā kaśepātaccaṃ nachatvā khagrīvāṃ kaṭhorī jya khī yapuvvaipuruṣebhyā 'pi duṅatarā abhavan|

Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.

त्वंtvaṃ चेत्cet तेभ्यःtebh·yaḥ सर्व्वोणोमानिsarvoṇomāni वचांसिva·cāṃ·si वर्दस्तक्षिvardastakṣi तेte नna ओष्यन्तिoṣyanti, यदिya·di चca तान्tān खाहृयेस्तददिंkhāhṛyestadadiṃ तेte तुभ्यम्tubh·yam उत्तरंut·ta·raṃ नna दास्यन्तिdās·yan·ti।

tvaṃ cet tebhyaḥ sarvvoṇomāni vacāṃsi vardastakṣi te na oṣyanti, yadi ca tān khāhṛyestadadiṃ te tubhyam uttaraṃ na dāsyanti|

Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
